What is CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs are designed to benefit both the community and the local farmer. Without the middleman mark-up, the CSA model presents a win/win opportunity: Selling direct to customers, we earn more than we would get selling retail or wholesale and our customers receive, not only price value, but a freshness value not available at retail outlets.

Maharishi Vedic City CSA was created to offer our community a wide variety of nutrient-rich, certified organic produce with a freshness factor you cannot find anywhere else. We offer over 50 different fruits, vegetables, herbs and other agricultural products for the length of your membership!

Members receive one large box of food per week which is conveniently available for pick-up at several locations around Fairfield, Iowa city, Des Moines, Ottumwa and Vedic City.

This program has the multiple benefit of:

On a personal note, a CSA offers the grower a chance to connect with and enjoy feedback from eaters. This simple point brings a huge amount of satisfaction and pride to farmers and a human connection between the producer and consumer that is simply not to be found in our conventional food distribution system.
